If you are on the search for a cheap headlamp the Mini 5LEDs 3Modes Cap Light available at Kaidomain.com for $2.54 maybe right up your street. Unlike the strap-on headlamp you would have to fit the Cap Light to your head-wear and possibly remove it when you are out and about during the day.
